With my weekly shopping in my hands, I got home later than I intended to (lack of planning) and was in a rush to prepare the lunchtime meal.

I decided to go straight through the recipe I had wanted to follow without reading it first. I realised later that I took a lot longer than I needed to. If I’d read the recipe right through at the beginning I would have put the potatoes on first and not halfway through which is what the recipe says.

I remembered two things: 1) “Dress me slowly – I’m in a hurry.”; and 2) an aphorism that I love: “There’s never time to do things right, right at the beginning but there’s always time to repeat them.”
