A well-known Spanish music radio station has some great jingles: “I’m different, I’m daring, I’m young, I´m diverse” .. a young person’s beautiful voice. I love them. Really entertaining.
Hang on a minute:
“I’m young, diverse?” There’s a bit of a contradiction there. I’m 60 years old. Am I young? According to society, probably not. Even then, I listen to the station every day. If the voice said (even though it might spoil a little the rhyming effect of the jingle “I’m young at heart.” I’d feel more included. And diversity is inclusión.
Call me a pedant if you will. Here’s a question for you: How many talent programmes will call a 50 year old a person with ‘high potential’?
